Nov. 6th, 2012 08:01 pmMessage: Addicted to God
Speaker: Pastor Drew Shih
Church: Jubilee Church
Scripture: Acts 13:2-3
"As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, "Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them." Then, having fasted and prayed, and laid hands on them, they sent them away."
Above all else, God wants us to know Him and depend on Him.
Fasting helps God's people to depend on Him more.
-Taking away something that mankind usually depends on for survival, in order to depend on God more.
Fasting for intimacy with God.
Psalm 46:1
"God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble."
God wants to be our refuge, our coping mechanism.
-The first place we go
What have you made your refuge?
